Re-Attached by Lance Ackerman
It
is a torn and restored card routine which is very practical and easy but
REALLY HITS HARD!!!. EFFECT :The magician takes a deck of cards, lets
the spectator pick a card and gives it to the magician; and they can even
sign it if they want . The magician then takes the card, rips it into
4 pieces and slowly, one by one, the cards morph back into place as they
started out even before they were ripped. At the end of the routine, the
dents are visually ironed out and, in the spectators hands, is their signed/unsigned
card perfectly normal. It has been reviewed by professional magicians
and, believe it or not, they say its as good as torn and restored routines
can get. It is a booklet with 30+ pictures FULLY describing what has to
be done and with different angles. This is definitely one of the BEST
Torn and Restored routine/effect out there.

Reparation
by John Lovick
Guy
Hollingworth created an absolute sensation when his incredible torn and
restored card routine, The Reformation, was show on national TV. The routine
was available only from Guy and in a very limited edition. In fact, by
the time the TV show aired, the effect was off the market completely.
In addition, The Reformation is extremely difficult to perform. Prior
to Guy's routine, David Regal had published a one-piece-at-a-time full
card restoration in his book, Star Quality. California magician, John
Lovick, has combined the best ideas from both routines into The Reparation.
What he has created, is a routine that looks as good as The Reformation
but is much easier to perform. As a point of interest, both Guy and David
have seen The Reparation and give it their full approval! The effect could
not be more straightforward. A card is selected from the deck. The spectator
signs the card. The signed card is torn into four pieces. Then, one piece
at a time, the signed card is restored! The restored card is left with
the spectator as a souvenir. It is a fantastic routine. The Reparation
is a reputation-maker. It is not self-working, but is well worth the effort
to learn!

Ripped & Repaired trick booklet by David Forrest
A new approach to the T&R plot A corner is cleanly and fairly torn from
a selected card. (It really is!) The magician claims that he can restore
this card to its former glory with the aid of a very special and ancient
and magic-endowed instrument of necromancy. The spectators clutch their
handbags to their faces and peek through the gaps in their fingers. The
magician goes to his pocket and produces....a stapler! He talks half the
audience out of leaving before re-attaching the torn corner with the stapler.
The "restored" card is signed by the spectator as proof that this miracles
was witnessed by human eyes. A man in the back row cocks the hammer on
a large handgun, a woman in the front is picturing the magi with an axe
in his liver....before things turn violent he gathers everyone around
close and with a gentle rub (ooh!) he visually heals the torn corner and
hands out the card ford inspection, there is nothing to find, just the
two staples which once held the card together!

The
Rosini Secret by Docc Hilford
The
Ultimate in Close-up Billet Reading Effect A small piece of paper is torn
from a menu. A participant writes a brief question on the blank side of
the paper and folds it. The mentalist uses a deck of cards in their box
as a little tray to display the folded paper. The folded paper is returned
to the participant. The cards are removed from the box and shuffled by
the sitter. She removes five cards and they're returned to the box and
put away. As far as the mentalist is concerned EVERYTHING IS DONE! The
folded paper is burned and the mentalist reveals the spectator's question
through his interpretation of the five chosen cards. The mentalist undetectably
switched the paper for AN EXACT DUPLICATE and read the question without
any moves. THE SPECIAL CARD BOX DOES EVERYTHING! Just let the sitter drop
her billet on the card box and with it seemingly in view at all times,
the billet is automatically switched. As the cards are removed and replaced
in the box, you openly read the message! You learn how to gimmick any
card box with a few minutes of work and some basic tools like scissors
and glue. A great feature is that everything resets almost automatically,
preparing you for the next table if you do restaurant work. You can tear
a corner from a placemat or menu to use a billet, WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE
DUPLICATE BILLETS PREVIOUSLY PREPARED. The read can be done completely
surrounded and without additional props. No "turning away" or "looking
into the crystal". All you need is a box of unprepared playing cards,
an impromptu billet and the Rosini Secret! Pages 24 - Saddle Stitched,

ROUTE 1 by David Forrest
Any Card at Any Number! Effect At the beginning of your card set you display
a blue backed deck and place it into your pocket for later. You then remove
a red deck and blow everyone away with all your hottest stuff. Just before
you end you suggest an experiment, a long shot if you will. Something
that, should it work will guarantee many a sleepless night. You ask a
spectator to just THINK of ANY CARD. Then you ask them to just THINK of
ANY NUMBER between 1 and 52. The choices are written on the back of a
Joker and left in plain view for all to see. You propose that you will,
through shuffling and cutting, position the card they thought of in the
exact position they named. They seem unimpressed. That’s when you ask
them to think back to the blue deck from way back before any of this began.
That deck is removed and handed to a spectator. She counts cards to the
table face up, one for each number. Everyone holds their breath as the
last card is reached. When it is turned over…it is the thought of card!
Want to hear the best news? ROUTE 1 is almost completely SELF WORKING!
The 14 page ROUTE 1 manuscript describes the simple construction of a
gimmick that does virtually NOTHING while at the same time, it does absolutely
EVERYTHING!! No memorized decks, in fact no memory work at all! No indexes!
No palming or in any way adding cards to the deck! The spectator counts
through the cards Deck is normal, no duplicates or gaffed cards! No cards
left in the case! No near misses! Literally ANY card! Genuinely ANY number!
100% guaranteed to work every single time without fail!

Wilson,
Paul - Royal Road To Card Magic Vol.1/2/3/4/5 DVD's - Complete
Set
If
you are seriously interested in learning card magic, there is no better
place to start than The Royal Road to Card Magic with R. Paul Wilson.
For more than half a century, Jean Hugard and Fred Braue's landmark book,
The Royal Road to Card Magic, has been a touchstone for all who love and
endeavor to perform great card magic. Because of its building-block style
of teaching sleights followed by tricks that utilize those sleights to
reinforce the lesson, it's been called by many the greatest self-instruction
book on magic ever written. Now for the first time on DVD, expert card
magician R. Paul Wilson accompanies you down this time-honored path to
show you, in crystal-clear digital clarity, every important sleight and
effect from the Royal Road to Card Magic in the precise order it appears
in the book. Thus, this video study guide has the potential to take you
from beginner to expert - and you can learn at your own pace. What's more,
Paul Wilson has added his own valuable insights and updates to the classic
Hugard and Braue text, making this Royal Road a not-to-be-missed journey
to becoming an accomplished entertainer with nothing more than a deck
of ordinary playing cards. Since its initial publication, The Royal Road
to Card Magic by Jean Hugard and Frederick Braue has been regarded as
the most complete course in sleight of hand with playing cards ever written,
teaching essential sleights from the Overhand Shuffle to the Pass and
Palm. Each chapter explores a new sleight followed by several tricks using
what the student has already learned—tricks that, incidentally, include
many of the best card effects ever created. Many of today’s finest magicians
began with Hugard and Braue’s classic book, including world-renowned card
expert R. Paul Wilson. On these DVDs, Paul guides you along this Royal
Road, demonstrating the sleights and effects from the book along with

multiple camera angles. He also performs most of the tricks in the book
for an informal audience, allowing the student to see each effect before
learning it. This DVD series is a complete course in card magic that expands
and updates the material from The Royal Road to Card Magic with new effects,
improved methods, and advice from many of today’s finest exponents of
card conjuring. If you follow this course from beginning to end, learning
each sleight before moving to the next chapter, you will soon be on your
way to becoming an excellent card magician. "I have always loved the title.
The image of a road succinctly conveys the valuable idea that the study
of card magic is a journey, not a quick fix. And, by defining that journey
as being royal, the issue of worthy respect is immediately established."
- Max Maven "The Royal Road to Card Magic holds a special place in my
heart, as it is the very first book on magic that I picked up from the
Larchmont Public Library as a young teenager. I must have renewed it dozens
of times. It is this book that opened the entire world of sleight-of-hand
magic to me and thus, changed the course of my life!" - Paul Cummins "Some
books bury themselves in your soul and stay there forever; Royal Road
is such a book. I am relieved that I am not the only one who is influenced
so deeply by a 'beginner's' book. The writing and selection of material
are first class. My magic still reflects its teaching." - Steve Draun
"The Royal Road to Card Magic is the first book on card magic I ever read,
and one of the best. I regularly give it to people who tell me they are
interested in learning magic with the pasteboards. A person could become
a professional by just learning the wonderful things within this book's
covers." - Jim Swain "The Royal Road to Card Magic was my first magic
book and the only book I ever learned from cover to cover. I guess that
says it all. I still use many of the techniques I learned from it, and
even published my 'take' on a couple of effects." - Martin Lewis "The
name of this great book sums up the enjoyable, thoroughly engrossing and
never-ending quest that is the study of card magic. Whenever I crack open
the cover of my copy, I'm reminded of the many hours of pleasure I've
had in poring over this, one of my first card books. While Braue collated
much of the material, it was Hugard who gave the descriptions life. His
succinct and charming style, with its genteel approach to card magic,
has been extremely influential-setting the standard for magic authorship
in the 2oth century. As an Australian, it gives me great pleasure to see
Hugard honored with this series-I'm sure it will guide many future magicians
onto that fabulous Royal Road." - Andrew Wimhurst "Whenever someone asks
about learning card magic, The Royal Road to Card Magic is one of my first
suggestions. It is one of the first books I had when learning magic and
I spent many hours as a teenager with book in front of me and a deck of
card in my hands." - Paul Gertner "The Royal Road to Card Magic remains
as one of the great books on card magic for both the beginner and well-seasoned
card magician. It is an absolute must-read for anybody who is serious
about card magic." - Simon Lovell "R. Paul Wilson teaching the Royal Road
is one of the very best ways to learn card magic. The production values
are superb! This is the best DVD course on card magic available today!"
- Bill Malone Paul Wilson has performed card magic since he was eight
years old and hasn’t left home without a deck of cards since! Now a world-renowned,
award-winning magician, Paul is respected not only for his creative approach
to magic but also for his remarkable skill with cards. He is a regular
performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood and has traveled the world
performing and lecturing on sleight of hand. Paul has also authored fifteen
booklets and manuscripts on his magic and has also produced five instructional
videos of his work. Paul now works in film and television. His credits
include technical advisor and second-unit director of the movie Shade,
producer of A&E’s Mondo Magic, co-producer and star of Court TV’s The
Takedown, producer and star of the BBC show The Real Hustle, and technical
advisor on the movie Smokin’ Aces. The Royal Road to Card Magic remains
one of Paul's favorite magic books and he continues to use the tricks
and sleights it contains to this day. In this course, Paul guides you
along the Royal Road with clear, concise instructions, multiple camera
angles, improved methods and invaluable advice from one of today's masters
of the art. For anyone who wants to learn card magic, this course amounts
to over eight hours of private instruction. If you follow the course from
beginning to end, learning each technique before moving on to the next,
by the end, you will be well on your way to becoming an excellent card
magician. VOLUME 1 Introduction Overhand Shuffle Hand Position Execution

S.S.
Adams High Priest of Pranks & Merchant of Magic by William Rauscher
Samuel
Sorenson Adams' world was filled with tricks, jokes and magic. His unusual
company, known worldwide as S.S. Adams, has plied its trade in pranks
and tricks since 1906. Adams was born May 24, 1879 in Denmark and his
family immigrated to the United States in 1884. Through years of hard
work, innate sense of his marketplace and how best to sell his products,
Adams became this nation's Number One High Priest of Pranks and Merchant
of Magic. In this book, William V. Rauscher tells the story of Adams'
entrepeneurship, his ceaseless efforts, and eventual financial rewards.
Woven throughout the story is the tale of a lonely man who accumulated
wealth but disowned his family and who left a legacy of nonsense products
that are still sold today. Numerous photographs, catalog reproductions
and illustrations provide the reader with a visual tour of this unique
old-time magic and novelty company. "Rauscher has captured the history
of a company that is surely a part of Americana. This book is a nostalgic
and delightful journey for all of us who remember our magic tricks and
joke items labeled S. S. Adams." -John Calvert

Salutations to Robert-Houdin - (HB) by S.H. Sharpe
In
all of history, no single magician has been as important in the development
of today's magic as Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin. He is credited with many
landmark developments that have formed the basis of today's parlor, stage
and platform magic shows. This book started in 1955 as a small prospectus,
for the purpose of 'Introducing Houdini versus Robert-Houdin, The Whole
Truth'. It was out on hold when The Magic Wand ceased publication. In
1967, it began a six year serial publication in The Linking Ring. Now
it has been updated, with added material and revisions, and is presented
in one monumental book, complete with index.

Same
Both Sides by Lloyd E Jones
A
Unique Book of Card Tricks Excerpt from Foreword by Lloyd E Jones "The
problem of what to do with playing cards that are the same on both sides
has bothered me or should I say, intrigued me for nigh thirty years. Very
little has been written on them and most every magician has them in his
paraphernalia but not in his working group of tricks. You'll find these
cards, which I have shortened to S.B.S. or SBS (same both sides) in the
double face decks of U.S Playing Cards. One is in the FA-KO deck and I
was delighted to learn that in England an entire deck of them can be obtained
(International Magic Studio: Ron MacMillan). Currently they seem only
to be had in Bridge Size although years ago, the Poker Size was obtainable.
As you'll note in the pages that follow, I asked (in THE BAT) in 1944,
what could be done with them and received no response. I did work out
a trick of my own and followed it with another when the FA-KO Deck was
first marketed. On receiving a quantity of the old style cards from Theron
Fox, I again asked (this time in S.O.B. jr - The Song of Bat, jr.) what
could be done with them an to my surprise receive not only a lot of answers,
but as you'll read some very fine tricks! So, this is one of the charms
of MAGIC - most anything when studied can be developed in many ways, And
a little research will discover tricks using the basic principle. I doubt
however, that Jack Potter has a section in his Monumental Master Index
to Magic In Print a section on same both sides cards! But I'll not make
the mistake that Ted Anneman did and state that this is all that can be
found on the subject that this is all that can be found on the subject.
But I seriously doubt that another book such as this will ever appear.

SANCTUM Card Through Window. Miniaturized.
Effect
A card is chosen. A corner is torn off. The corner penetrates the cellophane
of the card case. The clever gimmicks contained within will allow you
to cause one torn quarter from a chosen card to penetrate the cellophane
on your card case. The cellophane is shown to be free from tears or slits
and there is clearly nothing underneath. A card is selected and a corner
is torn off and placed on top of the deck. The case is slowly passed over
the torn corner where upon it disappears. The case is slowly turned over.
There, under a large black 'X' lies the torn quarter! The case, complete
with cellophane and corner still in place, is immediately handed out for
examination. Bicycle gimmicks included. Practically self working, only
basic card skills required. 4 page full color instructional panphlet included

Sanders,
Richard - Close-Up Assassin Book and Video
For
20 years, he has quietly forged a reputation in magic’s underground, publishing
only sporadically in such respected magazines as The Magical Arts Journal,
New Directions, Genii, The Magic Menu and France’s Arcane. Now, for the
first time ever, he reveals some of his most cherished secrets... TRIDENT
SUGARLESS BILL: The magician gives a spectator a sealed pack of gum, compliments
of the establishment. Later on during the show, a $20 dollar bill is borrowed,
folded into a tiny bundle, then enclosed in the magician’s fist. Upon
opening his fist, the bill is seen the have changed into a piece of gum!
The spectator breaks the seal on the pack of gum in his possession and
removes the first piece. Upon unwrapping it, it is seen to be his very
own bill! BEHIND MY BACK: The magician turns his back to the audience,
then holds a deck of cards behind him, such that someone can peek at a
card without his seeing. They do so, whereupon he snaps his fingers, then
spreads through the deck (still behind his back!), showing the selected
card to have vanished! He turns around slowly, revealing it to be stuck
to his forehead! SOUR DOUGH: A small, green silk is rolled into a ball,
and in the blink of an eye, it changes into a fresh lime! The lime is
then tossed out into the audience, whereupon the magician borrows a bill
of any denomination. The bill is signed, then promptly vanishes at the
magicians fingertips! Taking the lime back from the audience, he cuts
it in half, showing the signed, borrowed bill to be stuck inside! MY CUPPED
HANDS RUNNETH OVER: 4 (and only 4!) ungimmicked coins travel one by one
from the magician’s hands to a spectator’s, with the last coin travelling
in an impossible manner right through her closed fist! And so much more!
LIME RICHIE, SKINNY KRESKIN, TRICK PHOTOGRAPHY II, etc... 10 full-scale,
devastating new routines from one of Canada’s top performers, plus dynamic
new techniques and cunning gimmicks designed for real-world use. Set include
a video and a book of 84 pages, written by David Acer and lavishly photo-illustrated
with over 160 photographs. Plus included is a professionally produced

Sankey Unleashed by Jon Racherbaumer
Jay
Sankey creates and performs some of the world's most original magic. Sankey
Unleashed, his newest book, is a testament to Sankey's unmatched creative
abilities. The book features and astonishing 81 creations, making it a
mother load of magical miracles. In addition to powerful, direct card
and coin magic, Sankey Unleashed details the work on tricks with keys,
balls, pens, eggs, books, pencils, business cards, billiard chalk, markers,
credit cards, and even tomatoes! With such a wide assortment of materials
and such a staggering number of tricks described - at every skill level
- Sankey Unleashed truly contains something for everyone. Highlights include:
Nightcap - After signing his name on a card, the spectator tries to put
the cap back on the marker, only to find that it is now a solid, cylindrical
tube! Back in Time - a seemingly ordinary pick-a-card trick becomes a
time traveling experience. A reality-shaking effect for the lay-public,
and incredibly easy to do. Stretching It - in which a borrowed finger
ring is visibly stretched to three times its length. It then visibly shrinks
back to normal, and is returned to its lender. Leaving Home - a modern
classic, and one that comes as close to real visual magic as possible.
Spectators witness the magician visibly plucking a house key off the center
of a loop of cord. Just as easily, and perhaps more visually, the key
is thrown back on to the cord! These brief descriptions barely scratch
the surface. Jam-packed with magic that you will do, Sankey Unleashed
is an incredible value. Written by Jon Racherbaumer, illustrated by Earle
Oakes. 8.5" x 11", hardbound. 192 pages.

Scams & Fantasies with Cards by Darwin Ortiz
Scams
& Fantasies with Cards is destined to take its place alongside these others
as a modern classic. In this new, hardbound 235-page book he reveals thirty
of his finest card creations yet. Highlights include: * Great new work
with a memorized stack. Not just mental effects, but commercial and mind-blowing
effects accomplished with your favorite memorized stack. * Darwin considers
The Zen Master one of the most powerful effects he has ever created. *
The Color of Money pushes the classic “Follow the Leader” to a new level
of impossibility and impact. * If you never liked Oil and Water, Ultimate
Oil and Water will make you a believer. A show-stopping effect that earns
standing ovations. * In Impossible Conditions, cards turn over while in
a spectator’s hands, cards transform while in a spectator’s pocket, and
cards travel to your pockets under the closest scrutiny. * Totally original
presentations ranging from the humorous to the suspenseful to the dramatic
and poetic. Darwin has also created some of the world’s strongest gambling
routines and in Scams & Fantasies he shares some of his best yet. Imagine
allowing the spectators to thoroughly shuffle the deck, then immediately
dealing yourself a royal flush (Raw Deal), or producing any poker hand
requested (Shark Attack), or dealing out four pat poker hands (Déjà vu
Poker), or four perfect bridge hands (The Professional). For the more
formal occasion, there is God of Gamblers, a demonstration of false dealing
that takes the concept into the stratosphere. Throughout, Darwin provides
psychological insights, presentational angles, performing tips and suggestions
based on his extensive experience performing these effects for real audiences.
The plots, presentations, methods and handlings are all designed for maximum
audience impact. Impossible effects, entertaining presentations, rock-solid
construction and performing wisdom combine to produce a must-have book
for all lovers of great card magic. Scams & Fantasies concludes with a
new essay on magic theory that shows once more why Darwin Ortiz is the
most thought-provoking writer in magic. Hardbound, 235 pages, 135 high-quality
line drawings by Tony Dunn.

Scatter
Thought Off-Center Tear by Richard Stride & Alan Wassilak
When
Richard Stride and Alan Wassilak's "Scatter Thought" first hit the market
in 1988 with a limited print run of 150 copies, it quickly sold out and
generated quite a buzz within the mentalism community. Copies of the first
edition have recently been valued at well over twelve times its original
retail cost. After seventeen years, the Pseudo-Psychic's Off-Center Tear
still stands out as a unique and unsurpassed solution to the problem of
divining a spectator's hidden-from-view thought, suitable for both the
working professional and the serious amateur in any performance venue.
Celebrated professional mentalist Richard Stride's masterpiece of creative
thinking, which is the core of the manuscript, builds on concepts pioneered
by Richard Osterlind, Ray Hyman, and others. It is believed by many to
be the simplest, most elegant, effortless, and deceptive handling ever
devised for a center tear variation, allowing for an angle-proof glimpse
of the spectator's written thought while in the act of nonchalantly tearing
up the folded paper. There are no steals, no need to burn or discard the
torn pieces, no awkward peeks, and no difficult or suspicious moves of
any kind. Witnesses will swear that the performer never even looked at
the paper as he nonchalantly destroyed it. In addition to the easy-to-follow
step-by-step illustrated instructions for accomplishing this revolutionary
handling of a fundamental psychic entertainment tool, "Scatter Thought"
offers several novel suggestions by both Mr. Stride and by noted magic
illustrator Alan Wassilak (with a guest appearance by writer/innovator
Larry White) regarding presentation of the Off-Center Tear for stand-up
routines, walkaround performances, and pre-show preparation. A brief history
of the classic Ovette/Annemann center tear is also included in the text,
with suggestions for further reading.
