three cords running through it. At the end of each cord is a ball, two
of which are of the same color (say red), and one a different color (say
yellow). Now show the cord run freely through the holes, and the balls
are securely tied on the cords. Explain you'll make the ball jump from
one cord to the other. You pass the baton behind your back, and the odd
colored ball jumps from one end (say left) to the other (right). The audience
is not impressed, - they know you are just turning the baton around behind
your back. You appear offended at not be believed, and offer to prove
conclusively that the balls do jump from one cord to the other. The baton
is passed behind the back once again, and when brought to the front, the
odd colored ball is now tied on the middle rope, between the two similar

not to my surprise because this guy has 'hands of gold', he walked in

The performer explains that in Chinese culture, all energy or "chi" is
balanced and regulated by the forces of "yin" and "yang". Two bamboo sticks
are introduced. One stick is white with a corresponding white tassel.
The other is black, with a black tassel on a black cord. These two sticks
are held side by side and explained to be "Yin-Yang" sticks, which can
demonstrate a very simple yet profound principle of human existence. Pulling
on the white tassel, a white cord extends from the end of the bamboo stick.
At the same time the cord of the black stick shortens and the black tassel
rises up to its respective stick. In other words, every action in this
world is met with a parallel reaction! The tassels are pulled several
more times to further demonstrate this principle. At this point the performer
points out the obvious to the audience...the action and the reaction must
be connected somehow (just as the tassels and cords must also be connected).
The performer holds the sticks in a variety of positions (first side by
side, then like a "V", then like an "X") to demonstrate their "separateness"!
But finally the sticks are placed one in each hand. One of the tassels
is lowered, and as it is pulled down the tassel from its partner stick
rises of its own accord! It must be the "chi" or mystic cosmic energy
which connects the Yin and Yang sticks and keeps the cords and tassels

to have exchanged places. This is repeated a number of times, and the
audience believes they have caught you out. They inform that the rabbits
are White on one side and Black on the other, and you are merely turning
them around to change places. Finally you turn the two rabbits around,
and show that they are not Black and White as the audience believes, but
entirely different colors Red and Green.

One of my carpenters, Jimmy and I collaborated in the creation of this
new effect which, is a combination of a balloon buster and a circus wagon
or production box. In the effect a box is visually seen to be empty. Three
260 balloons are placed through special holes in the box. A countdown
ensues and all of a sudden the balloons burst and a rabbit or a load of
silks and other production items are then produced from the empty box.
This box measures 11" x 13" x 15" and the load chamber before release
9" x 9" x 13" .The load chamber is triangular in shape . The box has a
