How to compete in San Francisco Magic Competitions:

1. Must be a current member of Misdirections Magic Club.

2. Must have a 10-minute act - Close-up or Stage depending on competition.
Acts can be less, but no more than 10 minutes. Timing is important.

3. Videos must be submitted of all acts. Videos are property of Misdirections Magic Shop and may not be returned.

4. A committee will view each act for consideration. All acts will be judged fairly. All acts must make the deadline date. They will be judged on performance, what type of act it is, and previous number of past performances in past competitions.

5. All acts will be featured on a live DVD. Competitors will receive a free DVD. DVDs will be available for sale to the public at Misdirections Magic Shop.

6. Awards: The top three competitors will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies and the 1st place winner will carry the title of "Best Magician of San Francisco" for the year, plus numerous other prizes such as gift certificates from Misdirections Magic Shop.

7. Once accepted all acts must abide by rules and regulations of the Misdirections Stage Managers and Crew.

8. All acts must be on their best behavior with courtesy to other performers and stage crew with professionalism.

Competitors will be judged on the following criteria:

Appearance, Presentation, Technique & Skill, Routining & Construction of Effects, Timing, Entertainment Value, Orginality, Over-All Audience Appeal and just simply the magic!

Judges are made up of select number of official judges who are qualifed in the entertainment industry such as: Professional Magicians and Entertainers, Agents, Event Planners, News Media, Television and Film Personalities, etc. and the audience on the night of the show.
