Colombini, Aldo - Impromtu Packet Tricks DVD
Packet Tricks are one of the most interesting branches of card magic. Using only a small number of cards magic is created that is often easy to follow, visual and very magical. On this DVD Aldo Colombini presents fifteen packet trick routines that can be performed using a borrowed deck and at a moment's notice. Along the way he also teaches packet trick concepts and the many sleight-of-hand techniques that are regularly used when dealing with small packets of cards. Routines performed and explained: For Marlo (David Regal): A selected card is placed face-up between four deuces. Magically it disappears from between the deuces and appears face-up among the four Queens which have been in clear sight the entire time. Oil & Queens (Roy Walton): Four red cards and four black cards are mixed and as they are expected to separated into reds and blacks the blacks have risen to the top but the four reds have now changed into the four Queens. Shiftless Royalty (Robin Robertson): The four Queens and Kings are alternated face up and face down. Impossibly they separate themselves while revealing a previously selected card face up between them. Masque Backwards (J. K. Hartman): A Joker takes the identity of three different cards. As a kicker ending all the cards are shown to be jokers before turning back to their original identity. Curtain Call (Max Maven): The Ace-2-3 of Hearts do impossible things as they intermingle with the four Jacks. The Ultimate Truth (Peter Duffie): A lie detector made out of a small packet of cards finds a selected card. That’s Not Possible (Paul Gordon): Four Aces and four Kings are shown, mixed and split into two packets. All of a sudden one packed is seen to have the four kings while the other now has a Royal Flush in Spades. Oil And Water (Karl Fulves): Five red and five black cards are cleanly and repeatedly alternated but continue to separate. Finally they are fairly separated but magically become intermixed. Stringray (Aldo Colombini): Three selected cards surprisingly change places with three jacks that are sitting on the table or in a spectators hand. Royal Rhumba (Jean Pierre Vallarino): A beautiful and visual routine where Joker collection changes into a Royal Flush. Wallaby (Hiro Sakai): Four Aces rise one at a time to the top of a four card packet. As a finale all four rise to the top at once. French Twists (Richard Vollmer): A multi-phase routine where the four aces turn face up and face down, singly and two at a time until they are all face up. As a finale the Aces turn face up in the deck after they are lost. Modena Aces (Aldo Colombini): Four Kings vanish one at a time as they are placed into a four-card packet. Amazingly as the discarded cards are turned over they are seen to be the four Aces. Devil’s Elevator (Bruce Cervon & Dai Vernon): The 2-3-4-5 of hearts are placed into a four card packet but continually jump to the top. Exit (Aldo Colombini): Four red cards are placed on the table as four black cards are used for a twisting effect. Magically the four black cards change into reds and the red cards that were placed aside are now all black. Along with the routines you will learn important sleight-of-hand techniques such as: The Ascanio Spread, Braue Add-On, Charlier Shuffle, Criss-Cross Force, Elmsley Count, Hamman Count, Hypnotical Rhumba Count, Mirage Count, Rhythm Count, Veeser Concept and more. Colombini, Aldo - Card & Dice Deceptions Vol.1 & 2 DVD's
Playing cards and dice are two of the most recognized items that can be used in magic. Everyone knows the properties of both dice and cards as they are universally used in all types of games. On this DVD Aldo Colombini has collected some of the best routines that logically combine both regular cards and regular dice to form entertaining magic. Additionally the routines selected are exceptionally easy to learn and most of them will fool you.
Card & Dice Deceptions Vol. 1 DVD
Routines performed and explained: Half A Die Away (Gary Ouellet): A spectator selects a card and rolls a die. The card matches the value of the die with the exception of a half -- until a half dollar appears under the selection. Before You Die (Peter Duffie): Two cards are selected and lost in the deck. Using a random roll of a die cards are dealt into two piles equaling the totals of the numbers. The top cards of the packets are the selections. A Dicey Killer (Aldo Colombini): Three dice are rolled. You cut that exact amount from the deck and the card you cut to, is the one that was previously selected. Die Hard (Aldo Colombini): Two cards are placed as predictions. Two dice are rolled and that amount of cards is dealt into a packet. The two cards arrived at match the predictions. Dice Deal (John Rule): Two dice are rolled and that number of cards is dealt to the table. The cards are dealt into four piles and the face cards of the piles are shown to be the four aces. It's A Draw (Richard Vollmer): Two dice are rolled and the total is used to deal a packet of cards. A second packet is also dealt and both packets are divided into four piles. The top card of each pile is an ace. Blind Dice Prediction (Shigeo Futagawa): A prediction card is placed on the table. A spectator stacks three dice. The hidden numbers on the dice are used to deal a packet of cards. The card dealt to matches the prediction. Never Say Die (Aldo Colombini): An Ace, two and three of hearts are placed on the table with dice of corresponding numbers on top of them. When the dice are moved around the cards change and lead to two different kicker endings including a Royal Flush. Doubtful Dice (Aldo Colombini): A prediction is displayed as three dice are rolled. Cards are dealt in accordance with the dice arriving at several coincidences and a single card that does not match the prediction. A second card is found but it too is wrong. When the prediction is torn in half the two halves actually show the two selected cards. Divided Trio (Aldo Colombini): Three dice are arranged in any order by the spectator and cards are dealt in three packets to match, when amazingly the top four cards are shown to be aces and all the rest of the cards are flush cards. Two/Color Dice (Aldo Colombini): A prediction is made and two dice are rolled. The total of the dice is used to find a card. A second prediction is made and another card is found. The procedure is repeated two more times for a total of four predictions and four random cards. Amazingly the selections match the predictions. Follow The Dice (Richard Vollmer): The A-2-3-4-5 of Spades are placed on the table beside five dice whose numerical value match the cards. The dice are switched around but the cards follow the dice's order. Four Certain (Max Maven): The deck is divided into two packets and two dice are rolled. The numbers on the dice are used to arrive at two cards that match in value. A second roll of the dice is used to find two more cards and they turn out to be the mates of the first two. Two more rolls of the dice are used to loose the two new cards face up in the deck. When the deck is spread the two face-up cards find the original two cards. Special DVD Features Doubtful Dice PDF! Instant access to performances and explanations! Product Previews! DVD Trailers! Dolby Digital sound! Encoded for worldwide viewing! Running Time Approximately 75min

Card & Dice Deceptions Vol. 2 DVD
Routines performed and explained: The Dark Side (Aldo Colombini): Six cards are placed on the table in a row. A random roll of a die selects one of the cards. The selected card matches your prediction. Dickie Dai Die 2 (Paul Gordon): Two selected cards are lost in the deck and six cards are dealt on the table. A die is rolled to select one of the six cards. The freely arrived at card is used to find the first selection as the second selection is found by an elimination process. Die Spell (Aldo Colombini): Four cards are displayed and one is selected using a roll of a die. Upon turning over the cards it is seen that the selection had been previously predicted. The Odds Against (Karl Fulves): Two packets of cards are placed on the table and two dice are used to determine how many cards are moved in the packets and which pairs of cards are placed aside. As a finale all five pairs of cards have found their mates. Die-Ceptive, Do-Plicity (Stewart James): A prediction envelope is placed in full view while four dice are rolled. The total of all the dice are used to deal two packets of cards. The top two cards of the packets give a value while the top card of the deck signifies a suit. The arrived at card is found missing from the deck and in the prediction envelope. Coincidice (Doug Conn): Three spectators roll dice to select different cards. When the cards are revealed they turn out to have the same value as the dice they rolled. Cards & Dice (Bill Miesel): The Ace through four are placed on the table with a die on top of each with the corresponding number showing. The Dice are mixed but when the cards are turned over they are shown to have followed the order of the dice. The sequence is repeated but accidentally the dice all show a one on top – no problem – all the cards now aces. Royal Dice (Aldo Colombini): A card is lost in the deck while a spectator rolls four dice. The numbers of the dice are used to find the selection and the four aces. Die-Cast (Aldo Colombini): A spectator rolls a pair of dice and hides one of them. He uses the hidden die to look at a card in the deck. The deck is cut and using the total of the tabled dice the selected card is found. As a kicker ending the spectator cuts to the two cards that match his original roll of the dice. Six Dice Mystery (Peter Duffie): Two of six dice are selected while you make a prediction. The remaining dice are used to generate a number that is used to count down a packet of cards. The two numbers on the selected dice are now used to find a card that matches your prediction. Dating Game (Stewart James): Three cards are placed on the table and a die is rolled to find three random cards. The three random cards match the predictions. As a kicker ending the three cards also give the spectator's birth date. Prediction (Richard Vollmer): A prediction is placed on the table and two dice are rolled. The total of the two dice is used to find a card that matches the prediction in value and color. As a kicker ending the two top cards of the divided deck are shown to be the mates of the first two cards. Split Second (Stewart James): A set of half-cards are shown. Spectators roll three dice and remember the cards at that number in the packet. When the spectators remove the cards they picked they are both halves of the same card. Fireworks Trick Booklet by Aldo Colombini
This routine is almost an entire card act, which I have used for many years and I am still using it. A similar routine of mine appeared in my book "Direct Hits". That effect, called "The Seventh Floor," revealed seven selected cards with methods completely different from these, so, I think it is worth studying it as well. To reveal several selected cards is an explosion of magic that is always very well received by any audience. In this presentation, twelve cards are selected and found in a "crescendo" demonstration of sleight-of-hand! This kind of routine is used by many performers and is in the repertoires of magicians such as Doc Eason, Don England, Paul Cummins, Jamy Ian Swiss and many more. Besides a deck of cards, you need some rubber bands (size 16) and you are ready to amaze and entertain your spectators. If not otherwise stated, all the figures are from the performer's point of view. Have fun and entertain them.

Cone Tact Video
EFFECT: The performer removes a silk from his pocket and draws it through his hand. A ball appears from the handkerchief. The ball penetrates the silk. After draping the handkerchief over his hand, he places the ball on his palm and covers it with a leather cone. The cone and handkerchief are tossed into the air. The ball has vanished but is then found in the performer's pocket. A series of vanishes and reappearances of the ball now take place and during the process the ball changes color, then changes back again. The ball is placed into the performer's mouth and then penetrates the small opening of the cone. Several balls are produced from the mouth of the performer and the ball finally reappears under the cone. The ball is covered with the silk and this time disappears completely!

One of magic’s best-loved performers . . . at his very best! For decades, Aldo Colombini’s name has been synonymous with powerful yet commercial magic. Volume 1
Contents: JOKER DILEMMA - A spectator selects a card, which is shown to match the performer’s prediction. The audience suspects that the cards are all the same which the performer confirms. However, they’re all Jokers! DRAW A BLANK - A card, freely thought of by a spectator, is found to be the only printed card in an otherwise-blank deck. An amazing piece of magic and no, there are no switches or rough and smooth cards! HOLLOW HOLE - A card is selected from a pack with a hole through it. The card is replaced and all of the cards are secured in the box with a ribbon. A balloon is inflated and when it’s burst by the performer, the selected card appears—with its hole intact! JUMBO COINCIDENCE - Two packets of jumbo cards that have been cut in half are introduced. A half-card is selected and its mate is found to be at the same numerical position in the other half. In fact, they are the only two halves that match. For a finale, the rest of the cards are shown to have rearranged themselves so that all of the halves now match! THIS GOES ON - Aldo’s very funny take on Stewart James’ classic “Further Than That” with magical surprises that just keep on coming. You won’t believe you can get this many effects out of a single card trick! BLEACHED - A monte routine with a difference and in the end, the cards all turn blank—in the spectator’s hands! MAGNETIC - Two cards are selected and shuffled back into the pack with some cards face up and others face down. When the pack is spread, all of the face-up cards are red except for one lone black card—a selection. When the spread is flipped, only black cards are face up except for one red one—the other selection! MISSING LINK - Two differently-colored pieces of rope link and unlink in the spectator’s hands. No magnet is used and it’s suitable for parlor, stage or strolling situations! RINGING AROUND - Aldo’s classic four-phase ring and rope routine. Learn it and you’ll perform it for the rest of your life. APACHE - Four of a kind are shown. After a startling and visual transposition, two cards are selected by a spectator, who discovers that the cards have welded themselves together (and yes, this strange object can be examined!) The performer then restores the cards to their normal condition. TAKE OFF - A card is placed into an envelope with a hole in it. Though the card is clearly visible, it suddenly vanishes and reappears face up in the middle of the deck!

Volume 3
Contents: HAVE A NICE DAY - Sure to be one of the most talked about effects in this series, a card is signed and returned to the pack. Several cards are removed and the spectators are shown that the selected card is not among them. A smiley-face sticker is attached to the back of a card but soon, there are smiley-faces on the backs of all the cards! Just as suddenly, the smiley-faces disappear from all of the cards save one—the spectator’s signed selection. A great walk-around item! FOUR RED CARD TRICK - The classic Homing Card done with jumbo cards. A black card continuously reappears among four red cards and at the finish, the cards are shown to be all black - and then all red! BAREFOOT IN THE PARK - Three cards are selected in what seems to be a very strange game of Poker. Then, a spectator who never saw the original selections chooses three cards—they turn out to be the chosen cards! MINI-MAXI - A standard gag that produces two astonishing predictions. This is an effect that you’ll put right into your working repertoire! GET THE BALL ROLLING - Aldo’s version of the classic ball routine that’s performed entirely in the hands without the need for a table or handkerchief. It looks like difficult manipulation but you’ll be doing it in no time! RUBBER ILLUSION - A Queen stretches to twice its length and then—if you blink, you’ll miss it!—it visibly changes into a miniature card. You’ll fool yourself with this transformation! PACKED BAGS - A card is freely selected and even though the spectator shuffled the deck beforehand, the selection is seen to match the performer’s prediction. THROW IN THE SPONGE - Just when you thought all of the entertainment potential had been wrung out of sponge balls, Aldo will delight you with his routine, full of comedy and audience participation. THAT’S AMORE - The performer and spectator become two Cupids as they magically pair the Kings and Queens and, appropriately, a message of love appears on the backs of the cards. ANOTHER’S BET - Two coins travel between the performer’s hands and even back and forth from his pocket until, as a finale, a jumbo coin appears. A great coin routine for close-up and stand-up performances. PERPETUAL CALENDAR - A spectator shuffles a pack of cards and uses them to determine a specific day. A pocket calendar with playing cards printed next to every day is introduced and the spectator is asked to look up the card next to their day. The card matches the prediction! ULTI-MATE-M - Jumbo playing cards, cut into quarters, are introduced and four spectators each select a random quarter. When the pieces are assembled, it’s found that three match but one is part of a completely different card. Not to worry, however, as the performer’s prediction matches exactly—including the mismatched piece! HEART TO HEART - A Two of Hearts is shown and the performer apparently plucks off the pips, producing two sponge hearts and leaving behind a totally blank-faced card! After some magical by-play with the hearts, the performer miraculously merges them into one jumbo heart! This is a routine guaranteed to warm the real hearts of your audience!
