Afflicted by Marc Spelmann
A spectator is asked to examine ten figure wound cards, confirming each is different with wounds in different places, the cards are mixed and one selected at random. The remaining cards are hidden from the performers view. The spectator is asked to visualize the performer with the wounds on their chosen card. A pay envelope and a needle are handed to a second spectator who is asked to first confirm there is something inside the envelope and then to pierce a single random hole through the item inside. The spectator initials the top card of the stack and a playing card is also selected, but not yet revealed. The magician has misplaced the phone number of his old highschool girlfriend. He asks a spectator to help him locate her number by using their psychic abilities. He gives them a phone directory of the town she lives in. The spectator is FREE to choose ANY page and stop on ANY phone number and then write it down. Antoninus Pius's Box
The legend tells that in the year 141 A.D. Antoninus Pius, The Roman Empire Emperor, had to go on a journey due to problems with the borders, while his beloved had to remain in the city. It is said that during that time, the Emperor communicated with his beloved in a very special and unique way: both had decided that, on a certain time of the day, she would write a message in the sand and Antoninus would randomly take some stones with different words engraved on them. He would turn the stones around and the message that appeared was the same as the one written on the sand (by his beloved). The following day Antoninus was the one who would write on the sand, and his beloved would choose the stones. In that way, at the end of that long journey, they were able to feel closer than ever before. After telling the legend, the magician shows his audience six engraved wooden pieces which he will lay face down on a table. He also shows them a beautiful box with sand inside of it. The magician explains that, in the way of Antoninus, he has drawn a picture on the sand inside the box, which is now hermetically sealed, and he asks someone from the audience to hold the box in their hands and choose one of the six wooden pieces. Ash Felt

Catch-A-Sketch
EFFECT: The performer announces that he'd like to try an experiment, and invites a volunteer to the stage to help him. He asks her to think of a simple object. Once the picture is clear in her mind, she is asked to try to draw the object using an Etch-a-Sketch. To make it more of a challenge (and funnier), she is asked to draw it while holding it upside down. While she is doing this, the performer attempts to draw what she is thinking on a sketch pad. Inserting the rope into the vase, the magician confesses that a genii lives inside of the vase. To prove his point, he turns the vase (with the rope still inside) upside down. The rope remains suspended inside the vase! Then, the magician holds the rope with one hand and lets go of the vase. It remains suspended in the air, as if the genii of the vase were holding on to the rope. At the end of the trick, the magician hands out the rope and the vase for examination.

Chinese Sticks
A classic of magic. The magician shows two sticks, each with a cord and tassel running through its end. The are held close together, one long string only hanging down. The magician pulls on the short string, apparently pulling the string right through the ends of the sticks, as the long string becomes shorter and the short string becomes longer. Mogars’ Miracle 4 Knife Routine Trick
EFFECT: A red knife is shown to be normal in everyway. Suddenly, after a couple passes through the hand, the knife changes to white. After further inspection, it is seen to have only changed halfway! It is now seen to be white and red on both sides. With a magical pass of the thumb, the knife visibly changes back to red on both sides. The knife is placed in the left hand, and a white knife is removed from the pocket. As soon as the white knife is shown, the left hand is opened, showing that the red knife has vanished! Dice Thur Mirror
The Effect: The performer shows a wallet with a small square in the middle. A mirror, attached to a ribbon is passed around for inspection, then inserted into the wallet. A die (singular for dice) is also inspected. The die is placed in the square in the wallet, then, bit by bit, it very slowly sinks until it completely penetrates the mirror and drops to the floor. Brass Disc Escape

Richard Osterlind's DIGITAL FEEDBACK takes the traditional add-a-number routine into the 21st century.
