You show the napkin, and begin by telling that this is kind of a game. CRADLE TO GRAVE - The Cradle to Grave Routine is a card demonstration of complete control and discipline. This routine was designed to fulfill the 8th Step in the Ulmen Trials appropriately called Cradle to Grave. The cards start and end in the box. Everyting in between will take skill and dedication. This routine is perfect for those that wish to do a display of skill in a way that makes sense, and has purpose. The routine is well thought out and the ones that master it will understand the power of skill displays and how to appropriately use them. No doubt pro material. 3 parts, the opener, the sybil concept, and the closer. You saw part of the teaching vid for the opener/closer. Those are not too tough, pretty simple actually. The Impossible Stack that you have not seen is a little tougher. Basically you do a 3 packet sybil and the box clipped on the BACK of your hand, and exchange the box like a packet, then you periodically put a packet into the box, all the while making sure all the packets go in facing the same direction, and in perfect order (it's all false). But, it's not fast like a sybil, it's actually pretty slow. But no picnic, not as complicated as the Tudor cuts/Buck Twins/ Casino etc... It's just different mainly to train your hands to handle the box which feels strange at first, managing the flap etc..... But I think the 30 minute instruction on the sybil alone is enough to get them going. It's really hard to tell how difficult these things are as I have never seen anyone else try this stuff, and they are not too difficult for me..... but only time will tell. The nice thing about CTG is that someone could perform it like a snail, and I think it would still be very interesting to laymen.

A card that is NOT the spectator's card is given to the spectator and he is asked to thrust the card into the pack wherever he "feels" it should go. The magician says it has gone in right next to his selected card! They look at all cards at that location but the magician has failed — none of them are the correct card. Finally the spectator turns over the "thrusting" card he has been using — it is HIS card. Here then There A spectator is given the four of spades to hold between his hands. The magician takes the queen of hearts and waves it over the spectator's closed hands. The queen in the magician's hands becomes the four — the spectator opens his hands and he is holding the queen. Heat Two cards are selected and buried in the deck. The magician talks about being able to sense a person's card because it retains heat after they touch it. He spreads through the cards and somewhere around the middle finds a card that is "warm" — it IS the first spectator's card. He takes this card and, using it as a pointer, asks the second spectator to call stop as he passes it over the spread deck. The spectator calls stop. As the magician is about to turn over the card on the table he pauses ---- and then turns over the first spectator's card in his hand being used as the pointer —- it IS the second spectator's card. C-Short, Force, T-Palm A devious, surefire method to control a person's card even though they shuffle the deck. No card worker ANYWHERE should be without this in their arsenal. It puts you SO far ahead of the audience that virtually anything can be done with their card as a means to locate it. Great for those super tough audiences who MUST shuffle the cards. Fastest Trick on Earth The handling on this great effect was originated by Brad. A card is selected by someone. The magician asks if they would like to see the fastest trick in the world. They say yes. At that point and THAT point only, the selected card is slid back into the face down deck (yes, all the cards really are face DOWN). With no further ado — no false moves, no waiting — the magician dribbles the cards so that they spread in his hand or on the table. The person's card appears face UP in the middle where it was placed. Instantly. It went in face down clearly and obviously — a moment later it is face up after being lost in the deck. Startling — you should see the reaction. Focuses on extremely clean and clever handling. Out of Sight Truly one of the great Mind Reading tricks — very effective. You show cards one at a time until the spectator has merely thought of one. Those cards are buried in the deck and the deck is thoroughly shuffled. End result: the spectator is thinking of ONE card and that card is somewhere in the deck — no one knows where. The magician says he wants to go through the pack once more to make sure that the spectator has a VISUAL of it and so that the spectator knows for sure his card is in the pack — somewhere. The magician goes through the cards quickly, one by one, stopping occasionally to ask if the spectator has verified his card yet. Finally the spectator says he has seen his card in the ones that have been turned over, and the magician stops and says great — and gives one last shuffle for good measure. The magician takes the pack and begins to place cards face down into the spectator's hand one by one, asking the spectator to send the image of the card with his mind. Finally the magician stops on one card ... hesitates.... looks at the spectator hard... then says YES — this is your card. It is exactly the card they THOUGHT OF moments before.

Ellusionist - Street Magic DVD
The Street Package by ellusionist® - Trick List 1. "Burned" Spectator chooses a card, then thinks of the card. They draw a picture of the card on a slip of paper and fold the paper into quarters. The paper is burned to ashes. Performer takes the ashes and rubs them on his/her arm... the image of the card slowly and perfectly appears on the performer's forearm. 2. Glass Stinger - Performer says he can make a coin disintegrate. Borrows a coin but says he has to cover the process so the spectator won't see it happen. He puts a small glass over the coin but people can still see through it. So the performer wraps a paper napkin around the glass. The audience is getting skeptical, wondering if the trick will be any good. The performer makes an "incantation" and pulls the glass off the coin but it is not gone. After a few more tries the coin is still not gone so... the performer slams the entire glass through the table. The audience hears it hit and go through.... performer pulls the glass out from under the table. The misdirection in this trick is perfect and creates sheer and total shock in an audience. 3. Sick Aces Performer borrows a shuffled pack of cards and sets them on the table saying that during the entire trick he doesn't want to touch or come near the cards. He instructs a volunteer to cut the cards into four piles.... the volunteer can cut ANYWHERE. The performer has the volunteer mix the cards at random, putting cards here and there and on the other piles - it makes no difference where. At no time does he even come near the cards. Then the performer asks what the four most wanted cards are in a game of poker. They say aces. The performer asks if he has touched the cards in any way. The answer is absolutely NO. The spectator turns over the top four cards and they are, impossibly, the four aces. 4. Trace Unseen Performer takes a shuffled pack of cards and "riffles" through asking a spectator to stop ANYWHERE. When the spectator says stop, they remember what card they stopped at.... that card NEVER leaves the pack. The performer says "watch" as he slowly closes the pack on the chosen card (they SEE the card disappear into the pack) and then shuffles the pack. They never take their eyes off the performer's hands.) The performer instructs the volunteer to think of the card and look at the cards as he turns over all the cards in the pack one by one. They go through the entire pack with the spectator watching to SEE his card but.... he never does. That card is the ONLY card now missing.... even though they have been watching the performer like a hawk. The performer starts patting his pockets as if the card might be in one of them. He looks around the room. He starts looking at the people. He settles on one guy at the far end of the table, or room. He asks this man to check his jacket pocket. The man does, and pulls out the exact card that JUST VANISHED. 5. Merger Borrow a business card from someone in the room. Fold it in quarters and tear the middle out of it. Show that there is a hole in the middle of the card and the four sides are intact. You thread the card onto a string, rope, shoelace, or whatever. You tell people that you are about to perform the impossible but for their own protection you are going to cover the process with a handkerchief. The ends of the string or rope are held by the audience at all times. You reach under the handkerchief and in ten seconds remove the business card, intact, from the string. It still has the perfect hole in the middle! Everything may be examined. This is completely impossible. In videos on the ellusionist® site you will see a kid do it - we trained the kid for this trick in ten minutes. 6. Trick Switch After picking a card and shuffling it into the deck, the performer says he is going to try to find the card but he asks the spectator to keep a strict poker face - not blink - and not give away the card "no matter what". Performer pulls out three cards and puts them on the table one by one... each time asking the spectator if it IS his card. The third card IS the card - but since the spectator has been instructed NOT to give it away - he cannot say anything. The performer puts it on the table saying he's positive that these three cards are NOT the chosen one. (The spectators begin to get amused - thinking that the performer has blown it). After playing around to build up the effect, the performer pulls out the chosen card from the DECK. Everyone DIVES for the card on the table - having seen it clearly placed there - but it is a different card! When people ask you to do a card trick, do this one first. You won't believe how sorry they feel for you - that you are so dumb to blow it so badly. Then you will see them literally FREAK when the card on the table is not the card they thought it was, and they realize there is more to you than they thought. "DO ANOTHER ONE!! PLEASE!!!!" 7. Voodoo Zone ( also known as card warp) The trick looks like pure magic. A card is folded in half, face in. Another card is folded in half lengthwise, face OUT. The face out card is pushed through the face in card and as it comes out the other side it changes to FACE IN. This all happens visibly and no "trick cards" are used. In fact, borrow a deck and do it - it's better that way. 8. Go Inside Sugar You take a quarter on your hand. Place a sugar packet with the quarter and slowly close your hand around both. A spectator holds your wrist and another holds your hand and they squeeze. You open your hand and the quarter is gone but the sugar is still there. You rip open the sealed sugar packet and slowly empty it onto the table.... the quarter falls out of the packet, clanging on the table. Do it in any bar or diner. Great to do for girls if you want them holding your hand. 9. George's Old Trick. A. You show your hand absolutely empty and flick the fingers one by one. You instantly pull a quarter out of thin air, using just the one hand. B. You put the coin on the table in front of you - everyone sees it in the middle of the table. You put a hand over it and gently rub in a tiny circle. Pull your hand off and the coin is simply gone. Another great one for a diner or dinner table. 10. Chance Zero. You tell a spectator to take a shuffled deck and deal the cards one by one. If they think it's a red card they put it in one pile.... if they think it's black they put it in another pile. They deal the whole deck, face down, putting cards anywhere they want to. They can pull cards out and change them, whatever. You turn over the cards and the spectator has divided the cards between red and black perfectly..... this is magic at it's most amazing. You never touch the deck and it can be a borrowed deck. Inconceivable but true. 11. Print! You pull out a stack of blank business cards and show all of them back and front. You pull out a single blank card and again, show it plainly back and front. Slowly you push it through your hand and as it emerges on the other side it comes out with your printing, name, address etc on it. Give it to the spectator... there is no better way to hand out your card. 12. Melted. Borrow a solid ring and then borrow a shoelace, or string. You thread the ring on the lace and place it on a lady's outstretched hand. Slowly she closes her hand around the ring and lace and you can see the ring threaded right up to the last second. You take each end of the string and slightly pull it.... the lady can FEEL the string go right through the ring and off. She opens her hand and there it is. Off the lace. Elsdon, Mark - Before I Forget DVD
On this DVD... Mark explains the method and psychology behind his opener, 'Balance' which surely has to be one of the most incredible close-up suspensions ever released. No fake deck, no magnets, yet a deck of cards impossibly defies gravity. Twice! 'No Moves' is a delightfully clean ambitious card routine (wait, hang on!) which climaxes with the selection eerily creeping out of the deck whilst out of the performer's hands! Again, easy to do and entirely self-contained. 'Chaos' is Mark's final handling of his previously marketed 'Chaos and Order' trick. It is that rarest of creatures - a self-working triumph effect. As is Elsdon's way, it is of course so much more than that. How many other card tricks offer entropy throughout the universe as an alternative ending? The opening to a more formal show or stand-up performance, 'Memorisation' looks exactly like the real thing: the performer remembers the order of a shuffled and cut deck. He proves his claim twice and then ups the ante for the finale by claiming to memorise a participant's voice patterns. Packs small, plays massive. 'Celebrities' is a very commercial version of the 'Fred' trick which offers the ultimate synthesis of presentation and method and has the happy side-effect of being the ideal way to hand out your business card. 'Swindl-esque' offers an unusual visit to everyone's secret passion - that's right, binary mathematics! Using number cards for what looks like the most mathematical card trick ever, things turn odd (as usual) as Elsdon seems to become more pre-occupied with the color of a new hat which the spectator may or may not buy of course, amongst all the laughter the chosen number is revealed. 'Pre-prefiguration' is Mark's work on a Jennings effect. It is so clean and direct that one of Larry's friends declared it to be the best trick that he saw during the whole of his lecture tour throughout the UK a few years ago. A borrowed, shuffled deck and a series of escalating, unbelievable co-incidences, climaxing with the revelation of an impossible prediction. Mark also shares the timing and blocking for his handling of card-in-mouth and his presentation for the one rubber band trick that works one-on-one or for an audience of 500. The performer then mixes up a deck, first shuffled by a spectator, into a face-up/face-down condition. A second deck is shown to be completely normal and then, instantly, all the cards of one suit are shown to have turned face up in numerical order— well, almost all. Volume Two
* 2000 Three Card Monte - Another previously marketed effect. Imagine being able to do the cleanest Three Card Monte routine ever—where the spectator is totally convinced they know where the money card is, only to discover that the card has magically changed—and then hand the cards out as souvenirs! * Disappearing Deck - An entire deck of cards disappears from the performer’s hands, leaving only the selected card behind. The balance of the deck is then retrieved from the performer’s inside jacket pocket. * Red and Blue - A multi-phased Oil and Water routine where red and blue-backed cards continually separate until increasingly impossible conditions. The last word on this classic effect! * Fork and Knife - It’s the classic transposition where a knife wrapped in a handkerchief turns into a fork. Every kid knows this one—except the part where a huge bottle is produced from the handkerchief! * Invisible Jumbo Coin - A jumbo coin disappears from the performer’s hands with absolutely no cover and then, just as mysteriously, reappears. A miracle that can be performed in short sleeves! * Impossible Penetration - A selected card travels impossibly into the interior of a transparent plastic bag. Visual magic at its finest! * Vacuum Cleaner Card - A silk is “accidentally” sucked up into a mini-vacuum cleaner. A card is selected and the apparently insatiable vacuum removes the ink from its face. When the machine is taken apart, the silk is recovered and shown to now bear the face of the selected card. * Tied Card - An easy-to-do, flashy miracle! A string, tied around a card box, vanishes in a flash of flame, only to be found tied around a selected card when the box is opened. * My Prediction Is Your Card - A jumbo card is freely shown as a prediction. A card is selected and replaced but the performer’s prediction is apparently wrong. All end’s well, though, when the spectator’s selection is shown to have vanished from the deck, only to appear inside (yes, inside!) the jumbo card that was in plain sight throughout. * Chinese Miser’s Dream - Chinese coins mysteriously travel and multiply in the performer’s bare hands. As a stunning finale, four more jumbo coins are produced from between two absolutely guileless playing cards. A no-sleeves, jawdropping miracle!

Volume Three
* Silk Through Transparent Bag - A silk instantly and visibly penetrates a transparent plastic bag tied around the performer’s hand. * Time Machine - A silk instantly and visibly vanishes from a drinking glass and, just as mysteriously, reappears. A visual stunner! * Fastest Trip In The World - If you blink, you’ll miss it. A silk vanishes from one hand and instantly travels to the other. * Remote Control Deck - A deck of cards is shuffled by a spectator and set aside. A small packet of cards is shown to consist of mixed colors. At the performer’s command, the colors instantly separate in the small packet. The deck is then spread to show that the colors also separated in like fashion. * Linking Rubber Bands - A handful of rubber bands are examined by the audience and shown to be ordinary and distinctly separate. The performer holds them on his outstretched palm and asks a spectator to cover them. Instantly, the rubber bands are shown to be inextricably linked. * Tribute to Varone - A regular-sized deck is removed from its card case, which magically shrinks to half its previous size. After failing to find a selected card, it’s found folded inside . * Card From Top Hat - A great finale for any close-up act. After having a card selected, the deck is placed into a top hat and, upon his command, fly straight up into the air. When the cards settle, the magician is seen to have caught the spectator’s chosen card. * Torn and Restored Flash Thread - A flashy approach to the classic Gypsy Thread. Volume 2:
NEEDLE THROUGH DECK – The performer pushes a large, threaded needle through a playing card box. Not an impressive feat until the cards are removed and found to have no holes or any other evidence of the needle and thread passing through them. The perfect opener! RISKY BET – A packet of cards is shuffled by the spectators as the performer places some paper currency into a glass as a bet against failure. The cards are divided into small piles and one is freely chosen. When the value of the cards in the selected packet are added, they are found to match the amount of money in the glass. DOLLAR AND QUARTER – You won’t believe your eyes as a borrowed quarter and dollar bill are visibly fused together to form one of the strangest objects your audience is ever likely to see. The two components are then magically separated and returned to their owners! FLIPPER CARD – A selected card visibly vanishes from between two Queens and is found in the card box which has been in plain sight. One of the most visual card effects you’re ever likely to see! NEW K.O. ROPE – The performer cuts a length of rope into two pieces and then restores them but that is just the beginning of a startling sequence of magical events. Without any further cutting, the rope becomes two lengths again and then suddenly multiplies into three and then four lengths. The performer then restores it back to two and then back to one. For the surprising ending, the rope is in four lengths again and each is handed out for thorough examination. MENTAL POWER – The performer correctly divines a spectator’s thought-of card and then subsequently shows that the spectator had no other choice as every other card in the deck is now blank! KEEN SENSE OF TOUCH – Another impossible location as the performer finds two signed cards in a deck shuffled by the audience in a transparent bag while his eyes are covered. A great stand-up card effect for any size audience! FINDING THE ACES – Imagine being able to locate the four Aces in an instant from a deck that’s been completely shuffled by the spectators. A very practical method for an utterly impossible effect. TEN EXACT CUTS – The full details of Henry’s masterpiece, the finale of his FISM act, finally revealed! The performer cuts a deck of cards into ten packets in just a few seconds and then shows one card in the first pack, two in the second and so on to the tenth.
